Victor V Apollonov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and Academy of Engineering Sciences, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor, General Director of Energomashtehnika Ltd., Head of the Department of High-Power Lasers at the A.M. Prokhorov General Physics Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1982 and 2002, he was awarded the State Prize of the USSR and Russia, respectively. Apollonov is a leading expert in the field of high-power laser systems and interaction of high-power laser radiation with matter. Being the author of over 1290 publications (15 books, 360 presentations and 147 patents, 728 articles, inf. from Research Gate). Apollonov is widely recognized by the scientific community. He is the organizer of international conferences. More than thirty his disciples have become candidates and doctors of physical and mathematical sciences under his supervision. Apollonov is a member of many international organizing committees of major conferences and symposia in the field of high-power lasers and their applications. In addition, he is a member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. He has repeatedly acted as a keynote speaker in international scientific forums. He is the member of Presidium RANS.
