Douglas Ongeri Ochora holds a Ph.D. in Botany from Makerere University, Uganda, an MSc. in Botany (Plant Physiology and Biochemistry), and a BSc. in Biology (Botany and Zoology), both from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Douglas serves as a lecturer in botany at the Department of Biological Sciences, Kisii University, Kenya. He is also a postdoctoral fellow at the Preclinical Drug Development Platform (PCDDP), North-West University, South Africa, where he is doing research in pharmaceutical sciences. He actively mentors both undergraduate and postgraduate students doing research in botany. Godwin Upoki Anywar holds a PhD as a CARTA/DAAD fellow from Makerere University, the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology and the Institute for Virology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Leipzig, Germany. He currently lectures at the Department of Plant Sciences, Microbiology & Biotechnology at Makerere University and is a Research Associate at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNFT), Hamburg. He is a fellow of the: Global Young Academy, African Studies Association, Africa Science Leadership Programme and the Uganda National Academy of Sciences. He is a member of several professional bodies and a winner of several international and local awards. He is the vice president of the Natural Products Network for Eastern & Central Africa, Uganda Chapter (NAPRECA) and the Uganda Textbook Academic & Non-Fiction Authors Association (UTANA). He has authored over 100 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and is an editor.
