This edited book provides a comprehensive exploration of cutting-edge nanomedicine, bringing together leading research on the design and application of nanoparticles and nanomaterials across a wide spectrum of biomedical fields. Covering topics from tissue engineering, drug delivery, and biomedical implants to cancer therapeutics and precision medicine, the volume highlights how nanotechnology is revolutionizing diagnostics, therapies, and the management of complex diseases. Chapters also examine innovative developments in quantum dots, gene therapy, and strategies for tackling neglected tropical diseases, alongside critical assessments of biocompatibility, toxicity, and the regulatory landscape shaping the future of nanomedicine. This book serves as an essential reference for researchers, clinicians, and policymakers interested in emerging trends, challenges, and translational breakthroughs at the intersection of nanoscience and healthcare.

Manashjit Gogoi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong. He obtained Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, M.Tech. in Bioelectronics from Tezpur University and B. E. in Chemical Engineering from Gauhati University. His area of research interests are nanomedicine, biosensors, microfluidics, point-of-care devices, cancer drug delivery, magnetic nanoparticles, and hyperthermia. Dr. Gogoi has led and collaborated on several research and development projects, including work on biosensors for early cancer detection and nanocomposite films for pesticide sensing. Based on his research, he has published 3 Indian patents, got 2 Design registered, 33 research articles, 22 book chapters, and edited 2 books on Biosensors and number of conference papers. He also contributes to academic leadership at NEHU through departmental coordination, curriculum development, and laboratory establishment. Sanjukta Patra is a faculty in the Department of Medical Sciences and Technology at Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Prior to this she was at Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati for a period of more than seventeen years. Her research interests include diagnostics and therpeutics, enzyme and microbial technologies, biomolecules for biomedical applications. Dr. Sanjukta has led and collaborated on several research and development projects, including sensor development for tuberculosis and candida, whole cell biosensor for small molecule on various platforms.
