This second edition text provides a straightforward and accessible guide for the evaluation of patients with dizziness. This book will provide a descriptive and illustrative overview of the anatomy and physiology of the peripheral and central vestibular system. While history-taking pearls and guidance will be provided throughout the book s multiple chapters, there will also be an overview with the sole focus of taking the reader through the typical encounter of a dizzy patient from start to finish. Descriptions of contemporary vestibular and audiometric testing protocols will be provided and will supplement the examination and narrow the differential diagnosis for these complex patients. Individual chapters will be dedicated to each of the standard testing modalities in clinical vestibular practice. These will include chapters focused on video nystagmography, head impulse testing, rotary chair, dynamic posturography, vestibular evoked myogenic potentials, and electrocochleography. Lastly, the book will provide disease-specific chapters focused on specific vestibular pathologies. This will include BPPV, Meniere s disease, superior canal dehiscence syndrome, vestibular migraine, unilateral and bilateral vestibular loss, and complex multisensory dizziness.

The updated edition of this text will examine the evaluation and management of the inpatient dizziness consult, highlight specialized tertiary BPPV testing in Multi-axial repositioning chairs for BPPV, and dive into vestibular therapy. Diagnosis and Treatment of Vestibular Disorders, Second Edition will be an invaluable resource for otolaryngologists, neurologists, otologists and neurotologists, basic science and translational researchers with interests in the vestibular system, fellows and residents in aforementioned fields, and general practitioners with an interest in patients with symptoms of dizziness.
