The Sensory Reflection Journal is a companion piece of Sensory Wellness, the life-changing book that bridges the gap between understanding sensory wellness and putting it into practice. Think of this journal as a guide for learning how to bloom into your best self, just like a flower nourished by the right soil, water, and sunlight. The reflection questions and sensory exploration exercises will guide you along your journey, deepening your friendship with your brain and body.

While reflecting and engaging in these integration activities, honor and listen to your body. It is okay to pause, take a moment, call a friend, or take a pass. We can all live a more connected, joy-filled life by leaning into sensation: the path is yours to choose!

Drawing on the foundations of neuroscience, personal reflection, and practical strategies, the Sensory Reflection Journal invites readers to explore the profound impact of sensory input on their overall well-being. You will discover how tuning into your body's signals and adjusting your sensory environment can lead to a more connected, joyful life. Whether you are a parent, educator, therapist, or simply someone interested in improving your sensory health, this journal will provide valuable insights and techniques to help you grow.

Robyn Chu, MOT, OTR/L is an occupational therapist, author, and educator specializing in sensory integration and processing across the lifespan. With a passion for supporting children, families, and adults with sensory differences, Robyn is dedicated to helping people understand how sensory experiences shape emotional regulation, relationships, social skills, and overall mental health. She approaches her work with a strengths-based lens, empowering individuals to thrive in daily life. Robyn is recognized as a thought leader in the research, assessment, and treatment of sensory integration and development. She designs and teaches continuing education courses that have reached practitioners around the world, blending practical insight with evidence-based approaches. Seventeen years ago, Robyn founded Growing Healthy Seasons, a pediatric therapy practice that has grown into a collaborative team of over 75 therapists. Under her leadership, the company has not only embedded sensory wellness principles into its own culture but has also extended them into leadership training for organizations nationwide. In addition to clinical work, Robyn consults with businesses seeking to become more sensory-friendly and inclusive, offering tools to support regulation, connection, and optimal performance for all team members. Drawing on real-life experience and research from her work at UCLA and UCSF, Robyn helps others understand the powerful impact of sensory processing—at home, at work, and at play.
