Bringing together field experiences, conceptual understanding and practical tools, this book introduces Drenching, a means of enabling organization development through appreciative inquiry.
In this book Ramamoorthy and Joshi bring OD and Ai together through the lens of ‘Drenching’, a process of active waiting that ensures change occurs in both the facilitator and organization at the level of consciousness and then the level of action. Told through stories of Drenching in action, the book is divided into four parts covering what Drenching is and how it helps facilitate organization development, how organizations have responded to organization development interventions, the different models of Drenching in Ai, and the potential of Drenching within the field going forward. The book offers a practical guide that demonstrates how the models and tools mentioned can be combined in a logical, intuitive, non-linear, and narrative way for deeper results.
Challenging conventional notions of change and development while providing a useful toolbox for organizational transformation in practice, this is a useful book for change consultants, facilitators and coaches who use organization development and/or appreciative inquiry.
