Cancer initiation and progression are still incompletely understood, with all the negative impact on the indicated therapy. The cancerous tumor is not completely "guilty" of the sufferings of cancer patients. Cancer is a systematic disease from the very beginning, though its most prominent expression and product is the tumor, developing at the most vulnerable sites of the organism. Treatment would be much more well-grounded, planned and effective, if it gave more importance to the therapeutic means that address the logic of the normal processes in health and disease, to the laws of physiology, through a "language" made understandable by the physiological mechanisms of the organism. Dr Tasos Vartholomaios is a Medical Doctor specializing in Pathology and Integrative Medicine. His PhD thesis focused on the microenvironment of benign and malignant breast tumors. He worked as a Consultant Pathologist in Greece's National Health System (NHS) and in academic teaching and research. He received postgraduate training at Nuffield and Ratcliffe University Hospitals, Oxford, UK and at the Royal Infirmary NHS Hospital, Glasgow, Scotland, specializing in cancer pathology. Additionally, he trained at the College of Phytotherapy and the British Institute of Homoeopathy in the UK, earning Diplomas in Homoeopathy. Dr Vartholomaios also studied in Germany and the UK in various medical fields. With extensive clinical experience, particularly in cancer, he has treated thousands of chronic disease cases. He is a member of several medical associations and has authored two books on Integrative Medicine. He has published numerous articles and lectured widely in his fields of expertise.
