Emmanuel Kumah is an Assistant Professor of Healthcare Management at the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana, and an adjunct faculty member at Presbyterian University, Ghana, where he teaches Social and Behavioral Sciences. He brings a wealth of experience to academia, having worked for over 15 years as a hospital administrator in both public and private healthcare organizations across Ghana.Before transitioning to academia, he served as the Head of Policy, Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, the second-largest healthcare facility in Ghana. In this capacity, he played a pivotal role in shaping strategic initiatives, overseeing operational improvements, and ensuring the hospital met its objectives in service delivery and performance monitoring.His research interests focus on advancing patient-centered care, global health, health policy and systems, quality improvement in healthcare, and healthcare planning and management. He is particularly passionate about empowering patients to take an active role in their healthcare journeys, a theme that runs through many of his peer-reviewed publications. Through his work, he aims to bridge the gap between policy and practice, advocating for healthcare systems that prioritize the needs and voices of patients.
