Is the use of horses as an occupational therapy medium in the treatment of children with specific motor function disorders (SMFD) useful? This paper addresses this question. In answering it, not only the physical and sensory areas are considered, but also the social, cognitive and emotional areas. An evidence-based examination of the topic with clear examples and a strong practical focus, including other disorders.

In addition to my Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy, I have always been interested in working with horses. Through my part-time job as a riding instructor, I was able to witness the positive effects that working with horses has on people. In my thesis, I supplemented my personal experiences with literature.
