George D. Pozgar, MBA, CHEGeorge Pozgar received his BA from Barrington College, now the United College of Gordon and Barrington, Wenham, MA, and his MBA in Health Care Administration from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C. Mr. Pozgar is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Association of University Programs in Health Administration, and the American Health Lawyers Association. Mr. Pozgar is presently an author, speaker, and consultant. He was certified as a surveyor for the Joint Commission and has surveyed and consulted at more than 1,000 hospitals and ambulatory sites throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. He was a corporate consultant for the St. Barnabas Health Care System in New Jersey; Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Episcopal Health Services in Hempstead, New York; Administrator at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, Smithtown, New York; Assistant Administrator at Huntington Hospital, Huntington, New York; Administrative Resident, Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida; Administrative Clerk at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Washington, D.C.; and Research Assistant/Summer Intern for Booz, Allen and Hamilton Management Consultants, Washington, D.C. In addition, Mr. Pozgar was previously an instructor at the New School for Social Research, St. Joseph’s College, St. Francis College, and Molloy College in NY; on-site Faculty Member/Residency Preceptor for the George Washington University and Preceptor for a Brown University summer internship program; and, Seminar Instructor for C.W. Post College/Long Island University and the National Association of Medical Staff. Mr. Pozgar was also a consultant on a series of innovative experiential health law learning videos called Learnscapes in partnership with Jones & Bartlett Learning and Toolwire. Nina M. Santucci, JD, a graduate of the Jacob Fuchsburg School of Law, is presently General Counsel of the Windermere Group in Annapolis, Md. Prior to this position Ms. Santucci was the General Counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice, Community Oriented Policing Program. In that capacity, Ms. Santucci also served as the designated ethics official. She went to the Justice Department from the Suffolk County, New York, District Attorney's Office where she served as Bureau Chief of White Collar Crime and as Deputy Bureau Chief in Family Crime. Those roles provided her with extensive investigative and prosecutorial experience in the areas of: child abuse; large scale embezzlements; and, complex computer and business crimes and scams. Moreover, she has dealt extensively with frauds perpetrated against health care providers and insurance companies. Her comprehensive background includes more than 12 years of teaching in the classroom setting. She was spokesperson of the Suffolk County Anti-Welfare Fraud Strike Force and chaired a state task force on elder abuse. In that capacity she drafted a bill that would make any financial exploitation or physical abuse of a vulnerable adult a criminal offense. She has lectured on that topic to senior citizen groups, the general public, and to state and local officials, in addition to giving keynote addresses at a variety of national conferences. She has written in the areas of health law, identity theft, computer crime, corporate governance, and business ethics.
