Autor

J.M. Van Geelen graduated from Medical School, State University, Utrecht, Netherlands. After 2 years as resident in surgery and obstetrics and tropical medicine, he went for 3 years to a rural hospital, Kashikishi, Zambia. He obtained his training in OB-Gyn in CWZ (Canisius Wilhelmina Ziekenhuis) and Radboud University Hospital, Nijmegen, Netherlands. His PhD thesis "the urethral pressure profile in continent women" was presented at Catholic University, Nijmegen in 1983. He worked as Chief at Out-patients department Radboud Hospital till 1982, as Ob-Gyn, in a districts hospital (OSS) till 2003 and was in charge of urodynamic investigation AZM (Academisch Ziekenhuis Maastricht) till 2000. He was co-founder of the Dutch working group for pelvic Floor disorders (WBB), president of International Urogynecologic Association (IUGA.2000-2002) and Chairman of Dutch foundation Pelvic Floor patients till 2014. He has published a total of 15 original and review articles in international journals and contributed to 3 textbooks. His most relevant publications constitute the core of this book.
