This book is a comprehensive volume dedicated to the impact of coffee consumption on human health. It provides an up-to-date and highly illustrated synopsis of the composition and types of coffee, the mechanisms of action of coffee ingredients, the impact of coffee on all human systems and organs and the risk of many types of diseases.

The book presents the current state of knowledge on the impact of coffee on human health. Many controversial issues were raised and practical recommendations for coffee consumption in various groups of patients were included. Coffee is one of the most consumed beverages in the world, therefore it is very important to know about its impact on human health and the risk of various diseases. Moreover, a large amount of research on the influence of coffee on the functioning of the human body makes it necessary to summarize the current knowledge in this field.

This book is addressed to a very wide audience. It will be interesting not only for doctors of all specialties, but also for students of medical faculties, nutritionists and all those interested in the impact of food on human health.

Prof. Maciej Banach is a Vice-Rector for Collegium Medicum in the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) and Head of Department of Preventive Cardiology and Lipidology at the Medical University of Lodz (MUL). He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease, and Senior Research Fellow at the Liverpool Centre for Cardiovascular Sciences (LCCS). He is a Founder and Head of the Polish Lipid Association (PoLA), Founder of the Lipid and Blood Pressure Meta-analysis Collaboration (LBPMC) Group, and President of the International Lipid Expert Panel (ILEP). Prof. Banach is within 1% the highest cited scientists in the world according to Essential Science Indicators by Clarivate (with 80 TOP Papers) and one of the most cited scientist in Poland with 107,475, IH=112 acc. Web of Science Core Collection, and 182,792 citations, IH=146 acc. Google Scholar. He is a laureate of several prizes and award, including: the Most Influential Person in Medicine in Poland for year 2023 with 2nd place for year 2024 on the Top 100 list by Puls Medycyny journal, and 5 recognitions of Doctor Honoris Causa (at the Universities in Zagreb, Kosice, Bucharest, Kiev, and Tim
