Varunee Faii Sangganjanavanich is a Professor and Department Chair in Counseling at the University of Akron and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a supervisor designation. As a clinician, Sangganjanavanich has worked with gender nonconforming and transgender individuals pursuing gender transition. As a scholar, Sangganjanavanich has authored and coauthored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and encyclopedia entries on gender identity, gender transition, and transgender issues in counseling. In addition, Sangganjanavanich has served in leadership positions on the United States Professional Association for Transgender Health Executive Board and has participated in multiple taskforces of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.
