With clear and concise explanations that help both students and clinicians easily grasp key concepts, this newly revised and updated fourth edition provides a comprehensive and practical approach to EKG interpretation for NP and PA students, as well as any clinician seeking EKG mastery. New to the fourth edition are expanded clinical scenarios demonstrating real-life applications for interpreting EKG readings along with updated clinical content on more advanced steps in treatment and management. This textbook enhances the differentiation of arrhythmias, featuring clinical insights that help distinguish between them, and provides additional case studies illustrating diagnosis and management. New flow charts and a "Quick Hits" section provide speedy access to key information with a special appeal to visual learners.
The text delivers a systematic and physiologic approach to EKGs with a blueprint for evaluating individual EKG tracings. It facilitates in-depth understanding of EKG interpretation that enables learners to go beyond rote memorization. A wide variety of clinical situations are represented, including normal variants as well as pathologic findings, and 75 case studies include teaching points to enable readers to put their knowledge to the test. With over 80 figures and tables and more than 270 EKG tracings, this resource clearly illustrates EKG interpretation concepts for both students and practicing NPs and PAs. The text is accompanied by a ready-to-use EKG curriculum, including videos and PowerPoints by the author for each chapter as well as a test bank. Purchase includes online access via most mobile devices or computers.
