Pediatric Deep Brain Stimulation explores the significance and diverse treatment options using DBS for childhood disorders. The text is structured into four key sections, the first of which provides an extensive overview of a pediatric DBS program, including essential aspects like imaging techniques, potential complications, and ethical considerations. This initial section lays the foundation for understanding the transformative impact of DBS on young patients' lives. The subsequent sections delve into specific applications of DBS. The second section focuses on treating various movement disorders such as dystonia and non-dystonic movement disorders. The third section highlights neuromodulation techniques for managing childhood epilepsy.

Finally, the book addresses the use of DBS in treating other pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders. Edited by leading pediatric neurosurgeons, this resource stands as the definitive guide to pediatric brain stimulation, offering invaluable insights for clinicians and researchers alike.

Dr. George Ibrahim is the Abe Bresver Chair in Functional Neurosurgery at the Hospital for Sick Children and Associate Professor in Surgery, Biomedical Engineering and Medical Science at the University of Toronto.
