Her research focus includes bacteriology (microbacteria, spirochaetes), parasitology (plasmodia, Toxoplasma gondii, intestinal protozoa), virology (hepatitis, gastroenteric, respiratory viruses). Prof. Calderaro has authored 498 scientific publications in national and international journals, scientific books, and publications at national and international scientific congresses as invited speaker.
