A Quick Reference to Obstetric Anesthesia is a comprehensive resource on the latest in anesthetic care for the pregnant patients. It covers the newest evidence on various critical topics in obstetric anesthesia, and the inclusion of recommended perioperative protocols provides definitive references for optimal care. This book serves as an “in the moment” tool for solving challenging clinical problems, while functioning as a reference for both experienced clinicians and trainees. It also includes relevant patient management protocols, as well as numerous emerging topics that are lacking in presently available texts.
A Quick Reference to Obstetric Anesthesia is meant for anyone seeking immediately accessible information to facilitate real-time care of pregnant patients. Its approachable yet comprehensive knowledge base will be appreciated by anesthesia professionals at every level.

Dr. Adithya Bhat is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where he specializes in the field of obstetric anesthesiology. He has published papers in major anesthesia journals and has lectured nationally on anesthetic care for high-risk pregnancies. He currently serves on the Committee on Obstetric Anesthesia for the American Society of Anesthesiologists as well as the Patient Safety Subcommittee of the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology. In addition to his clinical and research endeavors, he is a passionate and award-winning educator. He previously served as both Medical Director for Simulation for the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine as well as Assistant Medical Director of the Howard and Joyce Wood Simulation Center. Preet Mohinder Singh, MD, DNB is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Washington University in Saint Louis, where his specific focus is on obstetric anesthesia. He holds a postgraduate degree in anesthesia, and is a prodigious contributor of research to the clinical anesthesia field. He has published nearly 200 scholarly articles in prominent scientific journals, authored numerous chapters in leading anesthesiology books, and has himself served as an editor for multiple anesthesia textbooks. His vast knowledge of human physiology and pharmacology as they relate to the obstetric anesthesia patient make him an indispensable voice on this subject.
