Based on the "Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine" (third edition) and the "Oxford Handbook of Clinical Specialties" (fourth edition), this CD-ROM provides upgrades for existing users of the information about patient care and the nature, investigation and management of diseases.
Based on the "Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine" (third edition) and the "Oxford Handbook of Clinical Specialties" (fourth Edition), the Oxford Clinical Mentor is designed for use in GPs' surgeries, hospital casualty departments, and by medical students everywhere. It is intended to be straightforward to use during consultation and quick and easy to access. It provides information about patient care and the nature, investigation, and management of diseases. You can use the system to look up factual information about the presentation, management, and diagnosis of diseases and other topics of general medical interest. The system will analyze combinations of symptoms, signs and test results and suggest diseases which might, for example, explain a puzzling clinical condition. This is a fully updated and enhanced version which contains over 300 more images than the original version and a number of specially selected video clips. There are direct links between Mentor Plus and the "Oxford Textbook of Medicine" on CD-ROM, the "Oxford Textbook of Surgery" on CD-ROM and Oxford PILs (Patient Information Leaflets). This version provides upgrades for existing users.
The systems requirements are: 80486 66MHz IBM compatible PC or better (Pentium recommended); Windows 3.1 (or higher) or Windows 95; 8Mb of RAM (16Mb recommended); SVGA monitor with 256 colours set at 640 x 480; 2Mb free hard disk space - 30Mb if installing speakers.
