Verhaar is professor of Orthopaedics and head of the department of Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy at Erasmus MC, University Medical Center, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Professor Verhaar is a past-president of the European Federation of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFORT) and the Dutch Orthopaedic Association. Dr. J.B.A. van Mourik is an orthopaedic surgeon in the Department of Orthopaedics at the Máxima Medical Center, Veldhoven, the Netherlands. Dr Van Mourik is a past-secretary general of the Nordic Orthopaedic Federation (NOF) and a past-president of the Dutch Orthopaedic Association
