This video presents the approaches of four orthapaedic surgeons for exposing the knee in preparation for joint replacement surgery. Dr John Insall and Dr W. Norman Scott demonstrate a variety of incisions, including the quadriceps snip and the Coons Adams patella turndown. Dr Kelly Vince describes the Sub Vastus approach from incision to closure; and Dr Peter Keblish narrates his lateral approach to the valgus knee. Soft tissues balancing is also examined through a detailed review of the lateral patella release, the medial release, the lateral valgus release and the flexion/posterior release. An instructional booklet accompanies the video.
