In particular, her work includes medication therapy and disease state management for active duty soldiers with a dual diagnoses of traumatic brain injury and psychiatric disorders, and she has also worked with intellectually challenged and developmentally disabled individuals in a state-supported living setting. These different practice experiences have allowed her to develop and enhance her clinical and medical writing skills over the years. Dr. Farinde is a Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and the American College of Apothecaries. She is the associate editor of several healthcare and scientific journals, and she has served as an exam committee development member for the Commission for Certification in Geriatric Pharmacy. Dr. Farinde's research interests focus on cognitive decline, the veteran population, older adults, neuropsychiatric disturbances, and mental illness. Dr. Farinde has a commitment to providing increasingly enhanced care to the populations she serves through personal and professional growth. Megan Hebdon, PhD, DNP, RN, NP-C, is a professor and primary care provider who has worked in a variety of clinical settings with older adults including long-term care, home health, oncology, pain management, internal medicine, and primary care. Her experiences in these settings have given her a deep appreciation for the complexities of care that older adults face with comorbid conditions, multiple providers, and varied clinical care settings. She has endeavored to include these important aspects of aging into her teaching in undergraduate and graduate nursing courses. Dr. Hebdon is actively involved in research focused on cancer survivorship, palliative care, cancer caregiver needs, and rural caregiving. She is passionate about supporting patients and informal caregivers in wellness, management of chronic conditions, and end-of-life care. She believes in the importance of approaching teaching and nursing practice with loving kindness. She emphasizes this and wellness in her own life through nutrition, mindfulness, exercise, and community engagement.
