The 3-dimensional (3D) printing technologies, referred to as an additional manufacturing or rapid prototyping, have acquired reputation over the past few years for art, architectural modelling, lightweight machines, and tissue engineering applications. The recent FDA approval of the first ever three-dimensional (3D) printed-medicine underscores the potentials of 3D printing (3DP) technology in pharmaceutical drug delivery. This report evaluates the prospects of 3DP technology especially in the area of personalized medicines and offers our perspectives on potential challenges that may hamper a broad-based application in pharmaceutical drug delivery. In this book, we introduce the principles and the current state of the 3D bio printing methods. Focusing on some of studies that are being current application for biomedical and tissue engineering fields using printed 3D scaffolds.
