A companion to "London Neurogenetics Database 2.1", the 1998 edition of the "London Neurogenetics Database" covers in more substantial detail: clinical neurological features, neuroradiology, neurophysiology, and neuropathology including nerve and muscle biopsy findings. Details of 2847 syndromes involving the central and peripheral nervous system are now held in the Windows version and there are 29,112 references. The database is simple to use and has many features. The user can browse or search for the syndromes, features, and references supplied. Searches can be combined or progressively refined, and searches can be printed or saved at the click of a mouse. Features of the database include a direct link from the database to the Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM) web site and also to the Medline site. From the OMIM site other molecular databases and information can easily be accessed and the Medline links will allow access to full abstracts for cited papers.
