Edward (Ted) Chandler spent 25 years in practice before joining the Nestle company as their consultant advisor. Following this he became Executive Chairman at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket. He has been President of the BSAVA and BVA and produced 5 textbooks on Canine and Feline Medicine.
C J Gaskell has been Professor of Small Animal Medicine at the University of Liverpool since 1982, having previously worked at the Universities of Bristol and Pennsylvania. As a clinician working within referral clinics he has published and spoken widely on feline medicine.
Professor Ros Gaskell heads the Small Animal Infectious Diseases Group at the University of Liverpool. Her work has covered many infectious diseases of cats and dogs, but her particular interests are in feline respiratory disease and vaccination. Ros Gaskell has been a member of the UK Veterinary Products Committee, and chaired the VPC Working Group on Feline and Canine Vaccination. She has also been a member of the 2006 American Association of Feline Practitioners Feline Vaccine Advisory Panel.
Knowledge of the cat has advanced rapidly in the 9 years since the second edition of Feline Medicine and Therapeutics was published. The primary object of this book remains the same however - to help veterinary surgeons and students to practise the art and science of feline medicine.
