Existing textbooks on pathophysiology for nurses are mainly large, expensive 4-colour texts which go into more detail than is necessary for UK nurses, so there is a gap in the market for a concise, affordable book in this area. As Nursing moves towards a degree course, and due to a higher average entry age, many student nurses do not have the scientific grounding and struggle with the area of pathophysiology. This book will offer a simple approach to the subject, with boxes showing the application to their nursing practice. Case studies will be used to show nurses how the pathophysiology relates to the diseases and conditions they meet, and how an understanding of the area will improve their nursing care.
