Carla Caldwell Stanford, PhD, CFLE, is an Adjunct Professor at Blue Mountain College and Itawamba Community College where she teaches Nutrition, Health Advocacy, and Community Health. She is also the author of Applied Law & Ethics for Health Professionals, now in a second edition.' Valerie J. Connor has earned a Master of Arts in Speech Pathology and a Master of Science in Health Education. She has practiced in school and long-term health care settings. Currently, she teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate level with a focus on the legal and ethical aspects of health care. She hopes that students will have a better understanding of the laws and ethical issues surrounding health care after reading this text.
