Recent economic growth and increased Internet access in Brazil have caused social changes and changes in work relationships, which may have culminated in a shift not only in the function of blogs, but also in the way they are produced. This process of expanding the language function of blogs may be associated, among other reasons, with different changes that have occurred in the world of work. In this context, blogs can be analyzed as a work activity based on the work of two bloggers, the texts they produce, and interviews. This makes it possible to observe specific characteristics of the relationship between language and work as manifested in blogs, to speculate on possible motivations for the inclusion of blogging in the list of work activities, and to observe the personal involvement and centrality of the profession in the lives of two young professionals from different fields.

In seven years as an advertising executive, discourse analyst Jackelin Wertheimer Cavalcante has developed a generalist view of the digital communication market and its work practices. During her master's degree, her perspective took on critical contours through contact with the theories of Discourse Analysis and Ergology. Here is the result.
