This book presents approaches to migrating the BusinessObjects Classic environment to the new XI R2 environment. You will develop a good understanding of the required tasks and the presented methodology helping reduce the project risks facing such complex and high visibility projects. The methodology presented will enable you to quickly create a custom migration strategy to fit your own deployments. To date only a very small number of the current BusinessObjects clients have started a migration project. The remaining community is in the process of sorting through all the available information for help before getting started on this sensitive project. While BusinessObjects has made lots of technical details available on the topic, there is still a lack of practical guidelines that can be used by an IT department to take on a major migration project. This book presents, in one place, the expert advice needed to enable IT departments to take on a successful migration project.
