The text progresses from basic concepts in classical control, such as linearization, Laplace transform, transfer function, and frequency response, to more advanced control theories like state-space representation and discrete control. The author, born in Peloche (Badajoz, Spain) in 1968, is a full professor at the University of Extremadura (Spain), working in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Physical Chemistry. He lectures on engineering subjects such as Process Control, Plant Design, and Process Implementation at laboratory scale. With over 25 years of university-level teaching experience, he has taught in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, and related fields. His research focuses on advanced water treatment processes, including the use of ozone, radiation, wet air oxidation, Fenton, and other combined technologies. He has authored more than 160 scientific papers and participated in numerous national and international conferences.
