This is a task-based text designed to help students tackle a spreadsheet assignment on their own and eventually master the skills required for a range of IT qualifications. It analyzes the essential components of spreadsheet and database software packages and does not assume prior software knowledge, just a list of keystrokes required to operate the student's particular package. Over 80 carefully graded tasks offer "hands-on" experience, including printing out, with the aim of providing a folder of work useful for assessment. Clear and specific aims are stated for each unit, along with straightforward instructions which allow the student to work unaided. This text is suitable for the following courses: RSA Computer Literacy and Information Technology (CLAIT) or similar; IT-related units in NVQs in Business Administration Levels I and II; open learning and workshop-based courses in further education colleges; and sixth-form courses in schools.
