Networked Business Math, by Brian Felkel and Robert Richardson, is a textbook on CD which addresses Business Calculus topics in a way that is relative to business majors. Business issues are examined from a business standpoint with a focus on modelling data. Because Excel and/or computer algebra systems are utilized, more attention can be focused on interpreting data and working more realistic problems rather than focusing on rote symbol manipulation.

Extraordinary Features:

The "textbook" can be downloaded as needed onto a computer, run from the CD, or used as a printed copy.
Files are displayed in Word 2000-2001 format, and can be viewed on a PC or Mac.
Excel and a computer algebra system are both used as problem-solving tools in the course, or Excel could be used exclusively.
Interactive compressed videos provide students with access to 24-hour tutoring, as they can download and view the videos as they work the examples.
Homework solution sets and current data sets allow the students to see the answers, as well as the software syntax that generates the answers. Some exercises also include hyperlinks to current data sets that can be manipulated.
Excellent tool for distance learning courses!
