10+ Hours of Video Instruction

Overview

SharePoint is hands down the most popular document management and collaboration solution on the market; this LiveLesson quickly brings you up-to-speed on everything you need to know to jump into SharePoint as a developer or for a career move.

Description

SharePoint is the de-facto document management, knowledge management, and search platform for businesses with Microsoft Enterprise Agreements. However, very few people are "trained" in Microsoft SharePoint development, so there is a very high demand for proficient SharePoint developers but a very low supply. In some markets, locating a SharePoint developer is nearly impossible unless you recruit them from other companies. This means that some developers in an organization can quickly find themselves thrust into the role of SharePoint developer without really having any formal training on what SharePoint is or how it works. Other developers want to increase their market potential by becoming proficient on it. By providing the fundamentals of SharePoint development, this LiveLesson is a benefit to both.

The objective of this video is to provide a comprehensive overview of SharePoint development for those individuals who have been given the responsibility of managing SharePoint, as well as those looking to transition from a career in .NET into a SharePoint career. As a SharePoint developer who came from an ASP.NET development background, the author is keenly aware of the key differentiators that set SharePoint apart from normal .NET development, as well as the pain points, gotchas, and key concepts.
