This CD-ROM provides students with an opportunity to explore computers, communication technology, and application software, and challenges students to apply their understanding of the technology via interactive exercises. The work is self-directed - students are able to select from a menu of four modules: "Peripheral Explorer" - this module explains the function, application, and configuration options related to common internal and external computer peripheral components; "On-Line Explorer" - this explorer simulates going on-line, enabling the student to log on and learn to navigate the Internet, America On Line, and a bulletin board service; "Exploring Inside the Computer" - the system unit, inside and out (front and rear) is explored in this module, teaching students about components such as the ram and the processor; and "Applications Explorer" - this explorer gives the students a better view of what software is available (word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphics).
