An ionospheric propagation assessment program that computes Maximum Usable Frequency and Lowest Usable Frequency for a user-defined sunspot number (or 10.7-cm flux) and X-ray flux. The reader can determine the optimum frequency and best time for broadcasting to a particular area of the world.
This is an ionospheric propagation assessment program that computes Maximum Usable Frequency (MUF) and Lowest Usable Frequency (LUF) for a user-defined sunspot number (or 10.7-cm flux) and X-ray flux. With this book the reader can quickly and easily determine the optimum frequency and best time for broadcasting to a particular area of the world. the MUF, LUF and Frequency of Optimum Transmission (FOT) versus time-of-day for a 24-hour diurnal period. Another shows coverage for any single frequency and time of day on a world map.

Part 1 System requirements: IMB PC, XT or AT compatible computer with either CGA, EGA or VGA graphics adapters; a minimum of 360 KB of free memory (i.e. memory in addition to DOS and resident programs); support is provided for a co-processor, but one is not required. Part 2 Manual contents: purpose for IONOPROP; a brief summary of ionospheric propagation; installation guide; basic operations guide; tutorial; reference section; sources of geophysical data; propagation models.
