In this revised and updated edition of the highly successful text, the authors have made significant changes: More than half of the in-classes and homework activities are new. They continue to utilize student engagement and active learning that characterized the first edition. There is stronger emphasis placed on developing student understanding of important statistical concepts. Many new data sets have been added on probability, the Central Limit Theorem, experimental design, inference for regression and chi-square tests.
The publication of the first editions of Workshop Statistics (part of the FIPSE and NSF funded Workshop Mathematics Project at Dickinson College) in its three versions established the texts as the most popular for courses stressing active learning in introductory statistics.
