A great resource for both teachers and parents, Figure This! contains 80 challenges designed to illustrate the excitement, energy and problem solving nature of middle school mathematics. Each challenge includes a problem in a real-world setting, a tip to get started, the complete solution and other extensions. Family materials include brochures with tips on supporting a child's mathematics development and ideas on working on the challenges with your child at home. Teacher materials include a PowerPoint presentation and handouts to introduce Figure This! to family members as well as ideas on using the challenges in your own classroom. The family brochures and fifteen of the challenges are available in Spanish. PDF files of all materials are included for easy downloading and printing.
