New chapters on counters and timers, switching devices, optical devices, temperature measurement and control and motor control have been added to illustrate further the range of applications. The operation and interfacing of a wide range of devices from all the major suppliers are included. Dr Mustafa A. Mustafa is a senior designer of control equipment and has written many technical articles and papers on the subject of computers and their application to control engineering.
