CABRI is a software package originally developed at the Laboratory of Discrete Structures and Didactics (IMAG), a laboratory of the University of Joseph Fourier of Grenoble associated with the National Center of Scientific Research. It received the 1988 Apple Trophy for best educational software. With CABRI, one can create and explore geometric constructions with speed and ease. It enables the user to construct an unlimited array of geometrical figures, from simple structures to conic sections, to any locus. Basic geometric components can be used to construct precise figures. By saving and re-using macros, complex geometric constructions can be constructed. It allows manipulation of figures while parts and measurements update automatically on the fly. Computations ranging from measuring simple distances to evaluating complex expressions involving slopes, areas can be performed.
