I sucked a sharp breath, blinking away my tears. 'I do.'

'I do.' He scowled.

The Alpha forcefully slipped the ring onto my finger, not even bothering to warn me. 'With this ring, I give you my heart.'

'Rose, please take your partner's hand in yours and repeat the same thing.'

'By the power vested in me by all the elements and our pack members, I now pronounce you mates.'

I swallowed at the question. My throat was dry, and, oddly, my nerves, which had entirely dissipated for a while, returned with full force. My hands felt clammy as I looked up at Aiden, skin lamenting with goosebumps. I couldn't help but think back to the time that intensified my fear and bought us to this stage. 

"Umm....when I asked you about pups, you sounded so against the idea that it terrified me, Aiden." My eyes fixed on the plush carpet on the floor, watching the patterns on them. I couldn't quite bring myself to say this straight to his face. Despite everything we have shared, it's too much.

He exhaled loudly. "Oh!"

Aiden reached out with his hand, slowly enough so that if I chose, I could stop him. I didn't. His hand, warm and surprisingly rough, rested atop mine and squeezed, the gesture almost making me choke on my breath. I seemed to sense that he was not done, and my silence spurred the Alpha to continue, his thumb stroking the back of my hand. 

"I-I am sorry for saying those things, but Rose, I am still scared of raising a child. In case you haven't noticed, I am a fuck up!" He let out a chuckle, a little self depressive, shoulders sagging. "My mother willingly abandoned me, and somehow, that still makes me question a lot of things. So I thought that it would be a hassle to raise a kid only for him to turn like me, you know."

"But you are not your mother," I said sternly, raising my head to meet his eyes. "You will not abandon your pup, right?" 

My heart started pounding in my chest, blood rushing to my ears as I waited for his answer. The statement put forward was more of an assurance to myself, to calm the raging tornado inside me. My omega had to know that my mate would never abandon us, and we would raise the pup together. 

"No!" He shook his head. "I-I am not going to walk out on our pup."

I let out a breath I had been holding, letting him continue. 

"Rose, we are in the middle of a crisis and did not plan this, so you hiding about it from me only intensified that feeling." His voice was quiet, barely above a whisper. There's a weight in the air again, but it didn't feel oppressive. The Alpha squeezed my hand again and said, just as quietly and raw, a break in his voice, "But I am willing to change. For you, for the unborn pup. I promise you, Rose."

At those words, I looked up and met his gaze, the previous hesitance and nerves disappearing from my face. "Really?"

"Yes." A weak smile curved on his lips, the Alpha taking a step in my direction until the tips of our toes were touching. 

In a matter of minutes, it became hot, and the air between us began to weigh heavy, scalding my skin. The Alpha plopped on our sofa again, scooted from the edge to the centre, pulling on the front of my jumper and bringing me with him, his fingers digging into my sides. I straddled his legs like clockwork like I had done a few times before and gripped the back of his head with my hands.

The tension that had been building between the two of us all day finally came to a head, for which I was nothing but grateful, considering the results. Yet, in the midst of it all, it's evident to me that my mate made sure to be tender and gentle. Aiden did not push further than I was willing to go, and his hands on my body kept me grounded, mixing with the pleasure coursing through me paired with the pressure of his presence and the pain when he dug his sharp nails into my flesh. 

"I want to kiss you."

"Yes, please."

The Alpha pressed his lips against mine.

It wasn't as synchronised as before, but he kissed as if all his desire bled into every that very one, touch burned through that shaped the heart into irreparable dents.

"Baby," My breath hitched. Everything burned, but the place our mouths touched felt hottest, so I tangled my fingers in his hair, finally breaking apart. 

The world seemed out of focus for a while, blurred on the edges, and at that moment, Aiden looked, like a dream, like some divine creature. It left me momentarily stunned, and all I could do was take in the sight of the stormy shade of his eyes.

Though we pulled away from each other, my breath still seemed stuck in my throat. The Alpha ran his thumb along the seam of my mouth before he cupped my cheek and pressed, slow, feather-light kiss to my lips. My lips chased his when he pulled away abruptly, this time, and I tipped forward, a little off-balance.

The Alpha slid his body flush against mine and pushed his hand under the hoodie I wore. "This is my hoodie, baby," He whispered against my neck and licked over the warm skin, "always stealing my clothes, hm? I love how they look on you, though." 

I made a whiny little choked off sound underneath him; Aiden was warm and wonderful and made me feel safe and loved; deep down, I knew that he would come around. It will be alright, good, maybe even fantastic because my mate was a good Alpha. With that, I tried to force down all the dark thoughts clouding my mind, like a thunderstorm, and succumbed to the way he started kissing.

The kiss was languid and slow and licking right into my mouth, suckling gently on my tongue, and I let myself feel. It's marvellous, Aiden made me feel stellar and infinite, like I was on top of the world, and we have not even started.

His fingertips brushed against the hem of the hoodie, his clothing technically. My heart slammed into the ribcage because he noticed, all sweet and gentle and so absolutely the person I came to love and cherish.

"Can I?"

I nodded my head.

He hastily slipped the fabric over my head, followed by my bra. For a second, the Alpha sat back on his haunches and marvelled at my bare chest, my skin breaking out in goosebumps. 

"You're so beautiful, baby." His words were quiet as he leaned down to suck a bruise at the dip between my collarbones, and I threw my head back. 

Aiden smoothed his palms over the soft pudge of my tummy, gulping audible, and his eyes trained on for a little too long. He moved to the curve of my hips and finally the bow of my bottom, slipping beneath elastic and fabric to bare skin. The Alpha squeezed gingerly at first, then roughly, one hand-fitted to each cheek and a low moan rumbling against my sternum.

I leaned into the touch, squeezing my eyes shut, and he started tugging the leggings off my long legs. My breath hitched at the sound of my panties ripped at the side; he snaked a hand down my exposed legs.

"Spread your legs for me," Aiden encouraged with a wet sloppy kiss. I gulped in anticipation, bringing my legs up to bend them at the knee before placing my feet firmly.

My pupils were wide, hair looking like a mess, cascading down my shoulders, my lips swollen and pink. I felt my entire body shudder as the Alpha made a show of unbuttoning his shirt. My eyes trailed up and down his half-naked form, a halo cast around with mouth parted.

As I tried to sit up, the Alpha shook his head, sitting on his knees in front of the couch.

Aiden moved back just far enough for me to lay on the sofa while he began kissing up my thighs, gripping them with untameable greed. My opening was right there; wet and hot, heat prickling at my insides, toes curling down.

He breathed over it as he snaked a hand around to squeeze at my bottom before sliding a finger in between, rubbing it over my pink nub. I was wet and arched my back to have his finger slid in, hardened nipples presented to him.

Aiden drew his fingers back and pressed in two, sliding them into my body easily, my body going pliant and loose for him. The Alpha pushed in to the knuckle, rubbing his thumb around my folds, and I tipped his head to tentatively lick at my hardened nipple, feeling me twitch and let out a breathy whine. My eyes rolled back as he did it again, pulling his fingers out before slipping them back in, tightening his mouth around my nipple. 

The Alpha used his free hand to run up and down the steep curves of my back, almost in a calming motion, until I started to rock my hips down to meet his fingers and moaned, tightening around them. 

Propping up, he slowly pulled away from the fingers, keeping his eyes fixated on me. I watched as he bought the wet tips to his mouth and swirled his tongue around. The action caused me to clench around the air, cheeks turning bright red.

"A-Alpha." I whimpered, eyes widening. 

"You taste so sweet."

Aiden spread my thighs, and with tender lips, he kissed my pink, puffed folds while I squirmed. With a choked moan, I twisted my hands to get a hold of something.

Keeping my legs open, Aiden filthily licked against the outer and inner skin, tongue prodding and shoving, his lips pressing and soothing. He hinged his jaw, taking every last taste for himself; swiping and swirling, he teased the tip of his tongue up and down and thoroughly sucked. My legs shook in the palms of his hands and went slack under the hold. 

Aiden closed his teeth around the soft flesh of my inner thigh, and I hissed, my eyes slipping closed. He dipped his tongue into my opening again, then, and my back would arch off the sofa if not for the pressure of his palm against my hipbone, pressing my entire body down.

The Alpha buried his tongue deep, licking at my walls, and all I could hear was the wet smacking sound and his soft hums of approval and his tongue inside me. 

I swallowed loudly, trying to bite my wrist to keep from screaming in pleasure.

It didn't work because the Alpha kept on thrusting his tongue into me faster and slicker, almost ruthless.

"Ohhh," Tears burned in my eyes. "Don't—don't stop. Please."
