Summary of Journey to the Promised Land

Leo, a curious boy, flies on a plane with his Papa and asks how people get to the “Promised Land” – God’s kingdom. Papa explains that life is like a flight: Jesus is the Pilot, the Holy Spirit is the Co-pilot, and pastors and teachers are like stewards who serve and guide the passengers. This picture starts Leo on a spiritual journey.

Through real-life moments and vivid dreams, Leo slowly understands what it means to follow Christ. He dreams of a plane in a violent storm and hears the Pilot’s calm voice, learning that faith means trusting Jesus even when everything feels scary. He begins to notice the Holy Spirit’s gentle “whispers” in his heart, helps a hurt bird, and realises the Co-pilot guides him with peace. At a busy airport, Papa teaches him that faith in Jesus is our ticket, and the Bible is our travel guide. When Leo loses his paper “ticket,” Papa explains that the real ticket is faith written in his heart, and Jesus never forgets His passengers.

Leo faces bullying at school, experiences “turbulence” in his heart, and discovers that prayer, forgiveness, and God’s Word calm his inner storm. He learns that God is like the control tower, guiding through prayer; Scripture is like runway lights in the dark; and good deeds, love, and forgiveness are the “luggage” we pack for heaven. In his final dream, Leo boards the glorious Flight of Faith with people from every nation and sees the radiant Promised Land, where Jesus welcomes His travellers home. He wakes knowing it was a dream of what will one day be real for all who believe, and he resolves to keep living with faith, love, and readiness until the Pilot’s final call.
