Saturday, June 20 Ender turned his gaze between the sky and the road, driving along the paved path that stretched into the forest. The heavens rumbled ominously above him, dazzling bolts of lightning slicing through the darkness like swift sword strikes. The storm’s cries set a rhythm that mirrored the tension in the air. When a spear like flash struck the roof of his single story house near the center and vanished into the night, a small black cylinder a meteorite about three centimeters long appeared where the light had touched.

About ten minutes later, Ender veered off onto a broken forest path winding through dense trees. The road ahead seemed to stretch into an endless darkness. A little further on the right, his modest, single story house appeared. Reaching the garden gate, it felt as if the house existed in a world apart, removed from time itself. The scene had a magical quality to it, as if conjured from a dream. The nearest neighbor was a ten minute drive away. Anyone who found this place had either come intentionally or had lost their way terribly.

With a deep gloom in his eyes, Ender reached into the front pocket of his car for the remote and pressed it firmly. The clang of the iron latch heightened the tension within him. He looked at the house as if seeing it for the first time in years. The darkened structure, reminiscent of a scene from a horror film, seemed to call to him from the shadows. Slowly, he parked under the canopy of his garage, returned the remote to its compartment, and closed the lid.

Taking a few deep breaths, he removed the key from the ignition and stepped out of the car. As he locked it with the remote and slipped the key into the pocket of his black leather jacket, the wind suddenly whipped against his face. Nature itself seemed to mirror his inner gloom, as if it had been waiting for this precise moment. The rustling of leaves and the creaking of branches shattered the evening’s silence. That day, as everything became part of a deep secret, the sensation strengthened his inner world, compelling him to confront his subconscious fears, while the universe whispered the name of someone he had never known into his mind.

Swinging a few keys attached to the keychain he had pulled from the right front pocket of his dark navy blue jeans, Ender took unusually reckless steps on the somewhat worn wooden stairs of the house. The creaking of the stairs blended seamlessly with the thunder outside. In that instant, the combined sound sent a shiver racing through Ender’s heart, leaving him breathless. Every corner of the house seemed to awaken the fears he had accumulated over the years, stirring the anxieties buried deep in his subconscious. Each sound and movement, defying the limits of time and space, seemed to drag Ender into the yet to exist, painful pangs of the past.

His face froze as if turned to ice. Like the zero point theory, even though his face looked pale, there was still a trace of warmth, as if absolute zero still held a flicker of energy. With inner unease, he climbed the next two steps without looking back and paused on the landing. Fumbling with the keys in his hand, he hurriedly opened the steel door from both top and bottom and stepped into the dark foyer. He felt things he had never experienced before his heart gripped by a chill more intense than ever. When he slammed the door shut, the reverberating sound echoed deep into the house, merging with the hum of emptiness into something truly eerie.

Finding the foyer’s light switch took him barely a second. With a single flick, the pale yellow light illuminated the surroundings like a savior. Yet, it was not enough to chase away the darkness within him. He shrugged off his camel colored cashmere jacket, which felt like a weight on his shoulders, and hung it swiftly in the closet, trying to convince himself that it was merely psychological. Drawing a deep breath, he slowly made his way to the living room on the right. Stretching over the cherry stained coffee table, he turned on the television with the remote, then tossed it onto the couch like a trap. For a few empty seconds, he stared blankly at a bank commercial flickering on the screen, before heavy steps led him, like a vanishing shadow, toward the kitchen. A strange, inexplicable unease swelled within him. As he filled a copper coffee pot from a narrow mouthed glass jug on the kitchen counter, raindrops began to fall on the windowpane like slow, heavy strings. Tap... tap... The rhythmic tapping seemed to herald the strange events that were about to unfold.

As the raindrops pounded against the window with increasing fury, the black cylindrical meteorite on the roof of the house lifted slightly into the air, spinning on its axis and gradually shifting into a green hue. Inside the house, a deep, resonant hum filled every corner. Objects and walls trembled as if caught in the pressure changes of an airplane in turbulence, rising and falling unpredictably. In this sudden surge of mysterious energy, Ender felt his heart leap into his throat. Every detail within the house seemed to pull him into the unknown...

With a growing sense of dread, Ender stepped backward and grasped the kitchen counter, only to feel his clothes change abruptly. Time and space seemed to warp and intertwine. From the bathroom, faint tapping sounds emerged, ghostly and eerie. The house had ceased to be ordinary, transforming into a labyrinth seemingly forgotten by time itself. Every corner, every object, appeared scattered as if pieces of an ancient, enigmatic story. All lines spun in his vision like twisting joints. Trembling with fear, he touched his changing clothes while glasses and cups toppled from the cabinets, scattering like fragments at the dawn of a dark world. His black T shirt had turned white, and his navy blue jeans had shifted to black. His heart felt as if it might burst from his chest.

The formica table suddenly morphed into a complex canvas of lost time, this chaotic scene feeling like the tentative first steps of a traveler trying to make sense of the inexplicable. The repositioning of his laptop evoked the sensation of opening a door to an unknown realm. Nearby, mysterious labyrinths drawn on pencils, erasers, and sheets of A4 paper seemed to come alive under the influence of an unseen force, initiating a complex mental game. On the side of the table, grocery bags appeared as if by some strange, inexplicable animation. Everything moved with a life of its own, defying the limits of time and space, and Ender watched with wide, astonished eyes.

“What is this?”

The words seemed to cut across time itself, brushing aside everything around him. Fixated on the paper, Ender hastily opened the drawer of the kitchen counter, taking a metal spoon and nudging the paper across the table. The hum and darkness reached a peak. A cold, creeping shiver ran along his fingertips, and suddenly the kitchen filled with the peculiar scent of a woman’s perfume. The fragrance seemed to have seeped in with a force that held the secrets of time and space, spreading through the entire room. A terrifying echo awakened in Ender’s mind. The paper trembled under the subtle, transcendental vibration radiating from his fingertips, fluttering like a sail caught in a storm. Every second, the paper the labyrinth seemed to struggle to reveal the unknown secret behind it. The chaotic portal, tearing through the fabric of time, pulled Ender toward it like a black hole, leaving him teetering on the edge of the unknown. In those moments, his entire body shook as if caught in a tensioned wire.

As the entire mystery coursed through his veins like lightning, his phone suddenly blared loudly from his pocket. Barefoot, standing cautiously to avoid the porcelain shards beneath him, Ender fished into his pocket and swiftly retrieved the device. The name flashing on the screen “Chief Inspector Soner” felt like the first piece of a puzzle, sparking an instant awakening in Ender’s mind. It was as if, at that moment, he had stepped into a point where time and space converged, drawing him closer to the enigma. Raising the phone to his ear, he heard a voice trembling like someone entering the sea for the first time.

In the deep secret that had spread into the evening, the response he gave to the phone felt as if it were the only truth, breaking into fragments on his lips:

“Hello.”

The voice on the other end was strong, deep, and resonant, as solid as a boulder.

“Have you found anything about the killer, Ender?”

Ender answered, his body trembling under a wave of intense unease:

“What killer? Who are you? My phone says ‘Chief Inspector Soner,’ but I don’t know you. I don’t even remember

when I saved this number.”

His heart was in his throat...

Yet the man on the phone continued speaking with cold composure and unwavering determination. That very calm amplified Ender’s anxiety a thousandfold. A tension, as massive as an iceberg, radiated through him. The words spilling from the man’s lips struck Ender’s soul like shards thrown from the very fabric of time.

“How can you not know me?”

The words were sharp, like a threat trying to forcibly pry open the door to Ender’s subconscious. Ender froze, his eyes wide with fear. A chill ran down his spine, as if a mysterious force were compelling him toward something unknown. He felt as though he had been pulled into a virtual world or a dream. But this was far from a dream. The truth was much, much deeper...

A strange vibration, emerging from behind the veil of secrecy, shook his heart and radiated through every fiber of his body. The tremor,...
