When Green Lantern Hal Jordan and Green Arrow Oliver Queen hit the road, they discover that the real villains aren’t always super-powered. From racism and poverty to corruption and addiction, the heroes confront America’s darkest truths in this groundbreaking saga. Hard Traveling Heroes redefined what superhero comics could be—and still resonates today.

DC Finest: Hard Traveling Heroes collects the legendary run from Green Lantern #76–82, The Flash #191, and World’s Finest Comics #201. Written by Dennis O’Neil with art by Neal Adams, this collection follows Green Lantern and Green Arrow as they journey across the United States, confronting real-world issues and challenging their own beliefs. With stories that tackled racism, environmental destruction, and drug addiction, this volume is a landmark in comic book history and a powerful example of socially conscious storytelling.

Dennis O’Neil was a pioneering comic book writer and editor whose work helped usher in the Bronze Age of Comics.
