The year is 1923. Suzuno Osugi’s father Takao warns her to stay away from The Universe of the Four Gods, telling her it’s a book that only men can touch. Takao worked with late Einosuke Okuda, who translated its text. He knows that in order to enact its story, the book needs one last heroine: the priestess of Byakko!
After a clumsy rescue by Tokaki, Suzuno and Tatara escape their imprisonment by the Crow People. During their escape, they quite literally stumble into their newest Celestial Warrior—the graceful and wise Toroki. Upon learning Suzuno is the true Priestess, the Crow People celebrate her with a feast. Tatara chooses this time to reveal something special to Suzuno, but she can hardly catch her breath amid all the excitement before Ning-Lan reveals her next murderous move… Also includes “Byakko Ibun,” the story of Nirsha and Ning-Lan!

Yuu Watase debuted in the Shôjo Comic manga anthology in 1989. She won the 43rd Shogakukan Manga Award with Ceres: Celestial Legend. One of her most famous works is Fushigi Yûgi, a series that inspired the prequel, Fushigi Yûgi: Genbu Kaiden. Byakko Senki is the final installment in the world of Fushigi Yûgi.
