about physical, mental and emotional health that encourage us to stay strong in the face
of life's many challenges, illustrated by Sarah Lou and with a Foreword by Frank Bruno MBE.
Samantha
Crilly's first collection of poems - Hope
through Poetry - was inspired by her personal experience of mental illness
and recovery, and by what she had learned from friends and family. Five years after
it was first enthusiastically received, she returns with a new collection that draws
on her ongoing recovery together with her work as an actor and script writer
raising awareness of mental health struggles. Giving honest and relatable
insights into what it means to have a mental illness and what causes and
triggers may lie behind it, these insightful poems are here as comforting
companions and to promote understanding and acceptance.
Writer and mental health activist Samantha Crilly is a drama graduate from Surrey, UK, who has enjoyed writing poetry since she was a child. Having suffered mental illness during her teenage years and early to mid twenties, she now works tirelessly to promote good mental health through her poetry and script writing. She enjoys keeping fit and spending time with her close-knit family and friends whose love kept her going through her darkest times. Now in a happier place, she has made huge steps along her journey to recovery and hopes that her poetry will inspire others to do the same.
