The fifth book in the hit Search & Destroy series collecting the 2000 AD adventures of beloved fan-favourite Johnny Alpha - Strontium Dog.
CROSSING THE STIX

In the far future Strontium-90 fallout has created a race of mutants, outcasts from society, despised by the ‘norms’ and given only the dirtiest job – bounty hunting. Johnny Alpha is one such mutant, working for the Search/Destroy Agency, hunting down criminals for the Galactic Crime Commission.

In this fifth volume, the inhabitants of Jock’s Landing on the water world of Och-Eleven have been slaughtered and everyone thinks Johnny Alpha and his partner Wulf are the murderers! Framed by two sinister Stix brothers in retaliation for the murder of their sibling, the hunters become the hunted and must evade a legion of Strontium Dogs whilst trying to clear their names.

Alongside "Outlaw" this volume also contains "Big Bust of 49", "Slavers of Drule" and "The Beast of Milton Keynes".

Johnny's story continues in this fifth volume written by John Wagner (A History of Violence) and Alan Grant (Batman), with art by Carlos Ezquerra (Preacher).

John Wagner John Wagner has been scripting for 2000 AD for more years than he cares to remember. His creations include Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Ace Trucking, Al’s Baby, Button Man and Mean Machine. Outside of 2000 AD his credits include Star Wars, Lobo, The Punisher and the critically acclaimed A History of Violence. Alan Grant With over three hundred 2000 AD stories to his name – not to mention over 250 Daily Star Judge Dredd strips – Alan Grant’s prolific creative record speaks for itself. Outside the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, Grant is well-known to Batman fans following a lengthy run on various incarnations of the title. More recently he adapted Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novels Kidnapped and Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde in Graphic Novel format with artist Cam Kennedy. He died in 2022, but his editorial and writing work on 2000 AD shaped the title in immeasurable ways. Carlos Ezquerra Carlos Ezquerra was the co-creator of Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Rat Pack, Major Eazy and many other fan-favourite characters. He designed the classic original Dredd costume as well as visually conceptualising Mega-City One. In addition to these credits he also illustrated A.B.C. Warriors, Judge Anderson, Tharg the Mighty, and Cursed Earth Koburn amongst many other stories. Outside of the ‘Galaxy’s Greatest Comic’, Ezquerra illustrated the first Third World War episodes in Crisis magazine, and became a regular collaborator with Garth Ennis, working on Adventures in the Rifle Brigade, Bloody Mary, Just a Pilgrim, Condors, The Magnificent Kevin and two special Preacher episodes. He died in 2018 but his profound influence on the world of comic art cannot be overstated.
