'A deeply affecting, exquisitely crafted work' The International Review of Books
Following the successful publication of Bright Dust, author Jane Lightbourne's second poetry collection, Light Beneath The Lids, is now published by award-winning Nevada Street Press.
Some poems in this new collection celebrate love in its varied forms, exploring the joy and darkness that romantic love brings, while others are inspired by the force and beauty of the natural world. The frailty of the human condition is always at the forefront of the poet's consciousness, but with a focus always on light and hope amid the darkness.
Praise for Light Beneath the Lids
'A luminous collection that pulses with emotional intensity and lyrical grace. Jane Lightbourne distils longing, love, loss, and hope into crystalline verse. Her images linger, each poem a meditation on the ache of memory and the persistence of beauty.' The International Review of Books
