Love is greater than the grave. The body dies but the spirit lives on. The spiritual union between two lovers does not have to be seen as being disrupted when one dies before the other. The lover "left behind" can wage a battle against "dead and gone" and find a surprising, new world of "alive and here." If one believes human beings are spiritual beings who survive the death of the body, one can also believe those surviving spiritual beings delight to commune with their loved ones who still are "robed in clay." Cherished memories need not be the extent of what is left for the bereaved to turn to in coping with their perceived loss.

There is a complex and amazing unity and collaboration in heavenly goings-on. Love is the beginning and end of all of heaven's intentions and is accompanied by a tremendous wisdom and power to amaze. Holy, benevolent, loving, intelligent, and powerful heavenly beings will come to those who seek them, who want to be with them and be helped by them.

All these things were discovered to be true by the author who takes a special delight in writing about them by means of poetry.

Autor

Charles Santiago is a retired postal worker living in Tallahassee, Florida. When he is not writing poems about his continued experience with his wife, he enjoys performing solo guitar at restaurants and other venues. He and his wife were married for thirty years when they were “separated” by her passing “away.”
