Even the prettiest villages have something to hide

When a village dispute ends with a dead body in a ditch, the official story doesn’t sit right with landowner Anthony Stanton and headteacher Lyn Blackthorn. Grudges run deep in Stanton Parva, and someone is willing to kill to settle the score.

But if the truth remains buried, the murderer will strike again
When a trench becomes a grave, two unlikely sleuths unearth a killer's secrets.

When an argument turns deadly in the peaceful village of Stanton Parva, the police are quick are quick to declare it an accident. But landowner Anthony Stanton and headteacher Lyn Blackthorn aren’t so easily convinced. With too many suspicious details left unexplained, they decide to take matters into their own hands.

As Ant and Lyn begin their investigation, they uncover old grudges, deep-seated rivalries, and hidden secrets buried within the village. What started as a simple case quickly turns deadly, as the body count rises and the real killer remains in the shadows.

Will Ant and Lyn uncover the murderer’s identity before they become the next victims?

Set in the picturesque Norfolk countryside, Dead Man’s Trench is a cozy mystery full of twists, memorable characters, and gripping suspense that will leave you guessing until the final page.

Keith writes mystery stories steeped in the haunting beauty and rich history of Norfolk, England. A lifelong history enthusiast, he spends his free time unearthing the past through organized metal detecting—always hoping for buried treasure (or at least a good story). His own career has been as varied as his hobbies: from selling ice cream to teaching on cruise ships, crafting furniture to lecturing in further education, where he eventually became a college Assistant Principal. Now retired, Keith spins tales of intrigue, spoils his grandchildren, and cheerfully torments his family with his latest historical curiosities.
