Guided by the enigmatic forgemaster Selene Cadfael, Ardyn's training is a trial by fire. He must decipher the Forge's ancient language, a system of runes and symbols pulsating with celestial energy. Each swing of his hammer becomes a step in his transformation, from apprentice to a nascent Forge Keeper. But the closer he gets to mastering the Forge's power, the more he realizes its seductive potential for corruption.
As the Cinder Covenant's influence spreads, their twisted creations drain the life from the land, turning vibrant gardens into desolate wastelands. Ardyn must confront not only the Covenant but also his own inner demons, the intoxicating allure of unchecked power.  He is aided by Elara, a young historian whose research into Lumina's hidden past unveils vital secrets.  Together, they must race against time to uncover the truth before the crimson glow of a blood-red eclipse amplifies the Forge's power and unleashes the Nightsmith's ultimate weapon-an artifact capable of extinguishing Lumina's light forever.  Ardyn's choice will determine not only his own fate, but the destiny of an entire city.
