The Tulip Girl is Margaret Dickinson's enchanting Lincolnshire saga about the endurance of true love in the face of adversity
Abandoned outside an orphanage as a newborn baby, spirited Maddie Marsh has had to fight her way through life. So when she finds a home at Few Farm with Frank Brackenbury and his household, she welcomes the chance for a fresh start.

Work on the farm is hard, but believing herself truly loved for the first time in her young life by the farmer's son, Michael, even the animosity of the housekeeper Mrs Trowbridge cannot mar Maddie's newfound happiness.

1947 brings a harsh winter, sweeping devastation over the farm and threatening the Brackenbury's livelihood. All seems lost, until Maddie has an idea that might save them all from poverty.

But then she discovers she is pregnant . . .

Born in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, Margaret Dickinson moved to the coast at the age of seven and so began her love for the sea and the Lincolnshire landscape. Her ambition to be a writer began early and she had her first novel published at the age of twenty-five. This was followed by many further titles including Plough the Furrow, Sow the Seed and Reap the Harvest, which make up her Lincolnshire Fleethaven Trilogy. She is also the author of Fairfield Hall, Jenny's War and The Clippie Girls. Margaret is a Sunday Times Top Ten bestseller. Susan Jameson is highly respected as a stage and screen actress. Her television credits include Heartbeat, The Bill, Band of Gold, Circle of Deceit, Boon, and Coronation Street . She works extensively in the theatre, including a national tour of Pride and Prejudice, and has much experience reading audio books.
